Emma Sue, photographer

About

Emma Sue

I picked up my first camera at sixteen and never put it down. What started as a way to document my world became a calling — a way to help other people see the beauty in theirs.

Fifteen years later, I've photographed over 300 weddings, hundreds of portrait sessions, and worked with schools across the Pacific Northwest. My approach hasn't changed much since those early days: show up, pay attention, and let the moment speak for itself.

When I'm not behind the camera, you'll find me hiking with my dog, renovating my 1920s bungalow, or teaching photography workshops at the Portland Community College.

FAQ

Common questions

How far in advance should I book?

For weddings, I recommend reaching out 8–12 months ahead, especially for peak season (May–October). Portrait sessions can usually be booked 2–4 weeks in advance. School photography is typically arranged the spring before.

Do you travel for events?

Absolutely. I'm based in Portland but regularly travel throughout Oregon and Washington. Destinations beyond the Pacific Northwest are welcome — travel fees apply for locations more than 60 miles from Portland.

What's your turnaround time?

Weddings: 6–8 weeks. Portraits and headshots: 2 weeks. School photography: 2–3 weeks after picture day. Rush delivery is available for an additional fee.

Can I print my own photos?

Yes. All packages include full print rights and high-resolution digital files. I also offer professional printing through my lab partner if you'd like museum-quality prints, albums, or canvases.
